Bill Collins started carving Tikis around the year 2000. Equally influenced by authentic Marquesan carvings and mid-century American carvings, Bill strives for a clean yet primitive look. Working at his own pace from his “jungle shack” on the Garden Island of Kauai, Bill enjoys utilizing the various exotic, local woods at his disposal to create beautiful carvings that reflect his vision. Bill has always been a favorite carver of Tiki Farm owner Holden Westland and “Nuku Nuku” is Tiki Farm’s first ever collaboration with Bill Collins. Nuku Nuku is in fact a replica of one of Tiki Farm’s favorite carvings created by Bill. Glazed in a satin matte with a medium-hued brown glaze which is then wiped to allow the richer hues of the glaze prevail in the recesses, we did our best to replicate Bill’s actual finishing style.
Nuku Nuku is a very large mug, measuring 8 5/8” in overall height and having an ample capacity of 24 fluid ounces.
